Cardiology, nowadays, covers a broad spectrum of needs starting from prevention and extending to treatment of both acute and chronic conditions as well as final stage cardiac diseases.
Arterial hypertension is a risk factor that affects your arteries all over your body, increasing the possibility to suffer a heart attack or a stroke, peripheral artery disease or chronic renal failure. My multiyear experience in workout and treatment of even the most complicated cases of arterial hypertension is the necessary tool that is going to help us deal with exactly those dangers for your health.
Cholesterol and triglycerides metabolism disorders have been an important part of my research activity and has resulted in numerous publications in Greek as well as international medical journals. Cholesterol enters the intima layer of the arteries and leads to the creation of atheromatous plaque. If your cholesterol or triglyceride levels are high we can work together aiming to lower them and reduce efficiently your cardiovascular risk.
Smoking is the most important factor for cardiovascular disease. Since 2012-14, as the President of the Working Group for Prevention of the Hellenic Society of Cardiology, I succeeded in increasing the time dedicated in smoking cessation in Greek Cardiological Congresses. I actively participate in training of Greek cardiologists wishing to gain knowledge and experience in smoking cessation. Individuals that wish to stop smoking rarely manage to do that on their own. That is why it is important to ask and get help from an experienced cardiologist. If you have decided to stop smoking or this is something you are just considering, do not hesitate to come in touch with me. Even a few minutes of interaction could be the first step for a precious gift to yourself: stopping the most harmful human addiction.
Chronic cardiac diseases
Chronic coronary artery disease, chronic heart failure and atrial fibrillation are the most common chronic cardiac diseases and require regular and watchful follow up. Nevertheless, their outpatient course is often interrupted by hospitalizations due to acute worsening or need for therapeutic interventions (coronary angiography and angioplasty, pacemaker or defibrillator implantation, restoration to sinus rhythm or ablation for atrial fibrillation, cardiac surgery). If you suffer from a chronic cardiac disease, regular and watchful follow up will allow you to live a normal life and avoid unnecessary hospitalizations. Furthermore, whenever needed, I, along with my experienced hospital team, will be able to address any problem whether urgent or not.
Through my position as Director of Cardiology Clinic in Athens Euroclinic, I am able to provide the best hospital services for my patients whenever that is needed. Athens Euroclinic is a modern, perfectly equipped private hospital in the center of Athens capable of dealing even with the most difficult and complicated health problems.
